Job Overview: QHSE Manager will lead our Quality and Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) efforts, with a strong focus on safety to join our team. This pivotal role involves leading our QHSE initiatives with a particular emphasis on maintaining and enhancing safety protocols. The QHSE Manager will supervise one Quality Assurance (QA) professional and work closely with all departments to ensure that our operations not only comply with regulatory standards but also exemplify the best practices in safety and environmental stewardship. 

3. RESPONSIBILITIES

a.    Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our QHSE management systems, with a strong focus on safety protocols and procedures. 

b.    Directly supervise and mentor the QA team member, setting clear objectives, assessing performance, and supporting professional growth. 

c.    Conduct thorough safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections across all operations to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures. 

d.    Champion a safety-first culture by designing and delivering comprehensive QHSE training and awareness programs for employees at all levels. 

e.    Oversee and lead incident investigations, ensuring meticulous root cause analysis and the prompt implementation of corrective and preventive actions to enhance safety. 

f.    Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry safety standards, trends, and legislation, and integrate best practices into our QHSE strategies. 

g.    Prepare and present detailed reports on safety performance and metrics, offering insights and recommendations to senior management for continual improvement. 

h.    Liaise with external QHSE consultants, regulatory bodies, and certification agencies to ensure compliance and foster partnerships that enhance our safety culture. 

i.    Initiate and manage sustainability projects, focusing on waste management, recycling, and energy conservation to minimize our environmental footprint. 

j.    Ensure product quality and safety meet both internal standards and customer expectations, supporting our commitment to excellence. 

4. REQUIREMENTS        

1.    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 

2.    Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a QHSE role within a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity, focusing on safety. 

3.    Specific Skills / Business Knowledge (Knowledge, skills and abilities): 

a.    Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CSP, ISO 45001) strongly preferred. 

b.    Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and leading safety audits.

c.    Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing staff. 

d.    Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. 

e.    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. 

f.    Proficiency in QHSE management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
