Job Overview : Seeking a skilled Medical Oncologist, based in Vietnam, to treat Vietnamese cancer patients as part of a Singapore/ Vietnam medical team, and to conduct cancer screenings and gene tests. The candidate will learn and carry out world-class, latest treatment protocols set by the Singaporean Senior Oncologist Medical Director. Will also need to have a collaborative mindset within a multinational, multidisciplinary team of specialists. The candidate will also deliver patient-centered care in line with world-class, Singapore standards. Opportunities to travel to Singapore for learning will be provided. Reports to local Vietnamese Medical Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Patient Care & Treatment:
- Diagnose, stage, and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with cancer, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies under the leadership of the Singaporean Senior Oncologist Medical Director, ensuring alignment with international standards
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed based on medical developments
- Collaborate closely with other specialists such as radiation oncologists, surgeons, and palliative care teams to provide a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care
2.Cancer Screening & Early Detection:
- Conduct and work with Clinic marketing team to promote cancer screening programs for at-risk populations, based on prevailing guidelines
- Ensure the appropriate use of early detection methods including mammograms, colonoscopies, PAP smears, and low-dose CT scans etc., where applicable
- Coordinate genetic testing for patients with a family history of cancer to identify potential hereditary cancer syndromes
3.Collaboration:
- Act as the main practicing Oncologist in the Vietnam clinic, working directly under the Vietnam-based and the Singapore-based Medical Director. The Singapore Headquarters Medical Director is higher in rank
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and telemedicine consultations with the Singaporean team
- Ensure that the candidate stays updated on new cancer treatments and techniques through regular training and workshops
- Work with Clinic Manager to meet any new or existing associates to form/ maintain new medical partnerships, if needed
4.Training & Development:
- Provide mentorship and training to Vietnamese clinic nursing staff on patient care best practices
- Facilitate continuous medical education and participate in conferences and seminars locally and abroad in Singapore
5. Patient Education & Support:
- Educate patients and families on cancer diagnosis, treatment options, side effects, and lifestyle adjustments
- Provide emotional and psychological support to patients throughout their treatment journey
- Promote patient safety and Singaporean quality standard of care
6. Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with both local Vietnamese healthcare regulations and international oncology standards
- Prepare regular reports on patient outcomes and treatment efficacy for review by the Vietnamese and Singaporean Oncologist Medical Director

REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge
- Medical Degree (M.D.) from an accredited university
- Board-certified in Oncology or related specializations
- Licensed to practice in Vietnam, with additional experience in international clinical settings a plus
- Around of 10 years of experience as an Oncologist
- Fluency in Vietnamese and English (both written and spoken) is required
- Experience working with international teams and an understanding of multicultural medical practices
